In this guided workshop, tutor and artist Ana Te Whaiti will lead tamariki through the basics of rāranga and weaving. Learn new skills and create woven masterpieces with natural materials, using the techniques native to Aotearoa for generations. Older tamariki will learn more about the materials traditionally used in rāranga, and how to gather them in your own backyard. All tamariki will discover something new and leave with a kete or wakahuia made solely by them.
Tamariki are encouraged to bring packed lunch and a water bottle. This workshop is for ages 8 - 10.
